An introduction to my new personal online space.
Welcome to my new personal online writing space, you’re reading this as you have chosen to discover why I am creating my own personal brand. Having spent three years at University learning the key craft of Sports Journalism, it’s now time to embark on my own path into the very competitive but exciting industry.
Previously working at The Transfer Room covering Manchester United taught me a lot more than I ever imagined. Spending two years writing over 2000 articles for a website surrounded by a team that not only introduced me to the sports writing industry, but helped me develop into a hard working team leader was incredibly key for where I want to take my career.
Currently, my main focus is the role of being the Media Officer at Llanelli Town AFC. Constantly improving and growing the club's output in the community and online has been the most rewarding experience to date. From operating the clubs social channels to creating and maintaining both the new website and podcast - the role has seen me take on new challenges and roles that I have thrived in.
Whilst my priority is my role at Llanelli Town, I can’t help but want to create and showcase my writing and other media skills on topics and sports I love. Whilst not being attached to any particular website or outlet, there is a huge opportunity to continue creating content surrounding subjects I’m passionate about - therefore deciding to bring to life my own online space to elevate my personal brand.
You can expect regular content here on substack ranging from football to wrestling, as well as new sports I decide to challenge myself with. Not only will I be writing about these topics but I aim to create digital pieces such as short form video and audio podcasts surrounding major talking points and more. I also want to share regular updates on my work, through the form of a ‘monthly diary’ style of newsletter which will delve into my mind as well as some of the key work undertaken on a regular basis.
